Unfortunately, there wasn't much ice left in the cavern, but it was still
worth the trip. And both Luna and Boots had a blast. Since I have been publishing Muttish Memories to coincide with Throwback Thursday I thought we'd go WAY back this week. On a side note all of these pictures were uploaded with Google's Photo Scanner app. I had tried it once before and was never happy with the quality. However, with a new phone that has a much better camera I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out. Boots was my dad's dog, so I don't have a ton of pictures of her when she was a pup, but these two are both keepers! She loved meeting new people. On the left you can see her 'greeting' at Dad's shop by putting her paws up on the counter. This last picture was taken at the Moon Caves in Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada. She loved to go, go, go and was always ready for adventure.
These were taken within the first week or two of Luna coming to live with us. Maybe even that first weekend. Back when Boots was old, but still spry. She had just as much fun as the dog a fraction of her age. Sure miss that old girl.
I've been nostalgic lately, missing the old "pack". Miley, Sprite, and Ari were always up for some hiking back in the day! Fort Pearce was one of our favorite places to go. We went so often I don't think these were even taken on the same day.
Located about 12 miles outside of St. George, Utah. Lots of petroglyphs and the remains of a small fort in the area.
The falls weren't nearly as frozen as we had hoped they would be, but the view was still amazing. Ella looked extra fluffy that day, and the wet snow really brought out the red in her coat. Charlie had a blast, he was ready to go, go, go as soon as we hit the trail.
Luna on the other hand was ready to head back pretty early on, she clearly preferred the summer visit. This series of photos (2006) may be my favorites that were ever taken of my American Eskimo, Sprite, even though I was so angry at him at the time. You see, Sprite had just gotten back from the groomer. (Please don't be angry that I shaved that poor Eskie's coat, no one told me that you shouldn't until long after this time.) Unfortunately, he took it upon himself to go outside and roll in the red dirt that was our back yard. Instead of staying angry I went off to find the camera - who could stay mad at this face?? Last March we had an unusual spring snow. This was shortly after Ella came into our home and she and Luna had a blast in the icy cold. Ella wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow when we first went out back. Then Luna tackled her... and full craziness broke out. Hands down, this is my favorite picture of Luna I have ever taken. I love the look in her eyes and the contrast of the leaves behind her black and white coat.
Sprite (American Eskimo) on the shoreline. Everyone in the canoe we were taking out for the first time. Sprite and Ari (Jack Russell) loved it, Miley (terrier mix) wasn't so sure, but was happy to just be with mom. I love Miley's yawn! As a bonus Sprite gives her the look of having extra ears. The second picture was the best one ever taken of the three of them together. Although it's the header for our homepage, I couldn't help but share this photo again since it was taken the same day. This captured everything about Sprite and his spunky personality. |
