History of the Gonczy Polski
The Gonczy Polski is descended from scenthounds that have been used for hunting in Poland since at least the 13th century. Like all European nobility, hunting with scenthounds was a favorite pastime for royals. By the 17th century there were at least two distinct types, the Polish "brach" (today's Polish Hound) and Polish scenthound, the Gonczy Polski.
