History of the Bracco Italiano
The Bracco Italiano is native to Italy, although their exact ancestry is unknown. It is believed that they are one of the oldest of the European pointing dogs and frescoes showing dogs of this type have existed since the 14th century. Originally there were two types, the Piedmont (white and orange) and Lombardy (white and brown). Each type was from a different region, but modern breeders combined the two in order to create a more uniformed breed.
