African Sand Dog
Abyssinian Sand Terrier, African Hairless Dog, Egyptian Hairless Dog, Zulu Sand Dog

The African Sand Dog is more a myth rather than a breed. It exists throughout the internet and in several dog companion books. There is even a specimen kept at the Rothschild Zoological Museum in Tring, England. It is known by many names, most include either Abyssinian, Egypt, or Africa in the title.
In reality, the stuffed remnants of this "breed" are likely a dog brought from the Americas, such as the Xoloitzcuintli, or its offspring. While there are records of hairless African dogs, none exist prior to the discovery of the New World.
