History of the Mioritic Shepherd
An ancient breed, the Mioritic Shepherd was first mentioned in 1359, when one died trying to protect King Bogden from being gored by enraged bull. Although its ancestors are unknown it is believed to be closely related to Carpathian and Bucovina Shepherds and other livestock guardians from Greece, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.
