History of the Griffon Bleu de Gascogne
The Griffon Bleu de Gascogne hails from the Midi region in southwest France, near the Spanish border and takes its name from the town of Gascony. It was selectively bred from crosses involving its ‘cousin’, the Bleu de Gascogne and wirehaired hounds in the 18th century, possibly with the Griffon Nervais or Grand Griffon Vendéen.
