Kennel Club List
The existence of kennel clubs began in Europe in the mid-19th century, when high society socialites and aristocrats began breeding and showing their pure bred dogs. By 1873 the first major kennel club was formed, The Kennel Club (KC), located in the United Kingdom. Several other clubs were formed throughout Europe and 11 years later the American Kennel Club (AKC) was established. In 1911 the Austrian, Belgian, Dutch, French, and German societies came together to form what is still the largest Kennel Club, the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
The following list outlines the four major kennel clubs found worldwide our site references: The American Kennel Club (AKC), The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), The Kennel Club (KC), and The United Kennel Club (UKC).
